I would like to study a masters degree in history , are there any degrees available from good universities?
Preferably something with research only.
Links would be great!
My grad school advisor and department chair say no. I know of one reputable distance learning program in historic preservation (Goucher) and one or two in museum studies (Leicester), but not straight history programs. I have an M.A. in history/historic preservation and a job doing research. I don't think it would have been as valuable an experience online, and nobody would have hired me with an online degree. The format of most graduate classes is discussion, rather than lecture, so you don't get the same benefits from just reading the material and writing that you get in the classroom.

I'm in the military and would like to use TA tuition assistance and not go over. I don't want to have to use my VA benefits.
Liberty University offers worldwide distance learning programs including MBA degrees. Follow the URL to go to the web site

Most importantly:
What was your degree in?
Do you now think you would be better off going a more traditional route?
Did an employer help with the cost?
Did it take you the time they said it would to get the degree?
Were there any major problems?
Most importantly:
Which online college did you "attend"?
What was your degree in?

I am taking on-line classes now to get my degree in Business. I want to a college campus for 2 years and as much as I may have liked it, I like taking on-line classes even better. If you are young and this is you first college experience go to a college campus so that you can get that experience, but if you have done that than let me tell you have much easier going to school on-line makes my life. I do not have to take the time to drive to and from campus I do not have to rearrange my work or life to make room and time to study for classes. Because I have all day to do an assignment and I am giving my assignment for the classes before the classes start I can do everything early. If you have a family, job, and a thousand other thing that you have to do each day I say go for it. Some jobs help with the cost mine did but I was also able to get grants. I am to get my degree in December only two years and that was because I had to take refreshment classes and I had to take a break because of the hurricanes.

I am graduating with a double degree in accounting and finance from Drake University which is well known. However, I don’t have 30 accoutning hours but I plan on picking up an online masters degree through University of Phoenix Online for Accounting. Will I be able to take the GPA or do I have to go to another institution for additional accounting credits. Please help. Thank you!
Absolutely. As long at the credits are properly accredited, you are fine. Online is just a delivery method. Check with your state CPA society.

ABSTRACT
Do telepathy, clairvoyance and other “psi” abilities exist? The majority of the general population believes that they do, and yet fewer than one percent of mainstream academic institutions have any faculty known for their interest in these frequently reported experiences. Why is a topic of enduring and widespread interest met with such resounding silence in academia? The answer is not due to a lack of scientific evidence, or even to a lack of scientific interest, but rather involves a taboo. I will discuss the nature of this taboo, some of the empirical evidence and critical responses, and speculate on the implications.
Speaker: Dean Radin

First thing you need to look at is the program accredited online? If it's not, I'd steer clear of it. I know there are alot of programs where you do most work on and take modular classes (for a week or two) on campus. Maybe that is a possibility. But I'd make sure the program you are looking at is accredited and do they give the same degree to those who take it on campus.

Jessica managed to complete her Master of science in nursing/education degree at University of Phoenix while juggling the other responsibilities of her family and home life. At the same time, Joseph completed a degree at University of Phoenix. One class at a time, the couple made education work into their schedules. Now that education is incorporated into the Willifords lives, it was easier for Joseph to get his bachelor’s degree too. To learn about master’s education at University of Phoenix visit http://www.phoenix.edu/information/masters-degree.aspx
